Hartley starts at Bairns

-

New Falkirk manager Paul Hartley has a perfect opportunity to drag his side further away from the bottom two as he makes his managerial debut for the Bairns at home to Inverness.

The Caley Jags have been in horrible form this season and currently occupy the relegation play-off spot with one win to their name from their opening eight fixtures.

Victory for Falkirk, who sit a place and a point ahead of Inverness, could see them climb into seventh place if Dumbarton falter at home to St Mirren.

The Buddies know that a win would ensure they end the first quarter of the season in top spot as they currently sit one point ahead of Dundee United who lead the chasing pack with the top four teams separated by just three points.

Elsewhere, Brechin City are still in the hunt for their first victory of the season and will be hoping they can end that search on Saturday as they host Greenock Morton at Glebe Park.

Darren Dods’men have found life in the Championship difficult but three of their six defeats have been by a single goal and they are due a result.

Dunfermline Athletic have been this season’s hot shots as they lead the way with 22 goals from their eight games and they’ll be desperate to keep that run going – and keep in touch with the league leaders – when they make the trip south to Dumfries.

Queen of the South go into the game looking for a first win in five.
