Pumphy on spot in victory

- Oakley Utd...... 1 Pumpherston .... 4

West Calder United continued their unbeaten start to the season with a fine away victory over South Division basement boys Kirkcaldy YM.

Strikers David Love and Jordan Devine both found the net twice with Ryan Inglis and Seb Tinning also getting their names on the scoresheet.

A fast start saw the visitors get themselves two goals in front inside six minutes as Love’s opener was followed by a neat finish from Devine.

Jordan Hamilton then pulled off a smart save to keep his side two goals to the good before Love and then Tinning found the net prior to the break to wrap up the points before Pumpherston stayed within touching distance of the promotion places in the South Division after two penalties in the first four minutes put them on the way to victory against Oakley United.

Both spot-kicks were calmly converted by the prolific Ally McRitchie as the visitors got off to a stunning start away to tricky opposition who entered the clash with an unbeaten league run of four games.

That gave the visitors some breathing space but their lead never looked like being put under severe pressure.

Indeed, further goals from Barry Nicholson and Derek Shaw wrapped up a comfortable victory and three points.

A late goal for the hosts was nothing more than a consolation when the result was not in doubt.

As with last term, Craig Martin’s men are proving to be free-scoring, having found the net 35 times in nine games this season to boast the best attack in the division.

They will be looking to continue their fine form and make it eight league games unbeaten when they welcome Crossgates Primrose to Recreation Park this weekend.
