Wrap up warm and enjoy what West Lothian has to offer by joining your local walking group.

Free groups are held around the county to suit all ages and abilities.

In Winchburgh, a group sets off from the Tally Ho Car Park at 10.30am today (Thursday) and next Thursday.

In Armadale, on Tuesday (November 14) at 10am a group meets outside St Anthony’s Primary School and in Craigshill on the same day also at 10am walkers will set off from Craigshill Shopping Mall.

The following day in Linlithgow at 10am a dementia friendly group will meet outside Tesco.

Free car parking is available behind Tesco and all walkers are invited to join the group for a coffee after the walk.

And that evening at 7pm, a group will meet at the Livingston Inn Car Park and the route of this walk will be decided on the night.

The walks are organised by West Lothian Council’s Health Improvement Team.

A spokesperson said: “Our groups are friendly and welcoming and the trained walk leaders will support new walkers to build up their pace and distance.

“You can meet new friends, discover new walks and improve your fitness.

“The walks last about 60 minutes and you will be able to walk at your own pace.

“Sorry, but dogs are not allowed on the walks.

“The walks may also be cancelled at short notice at the leader’s discretion if they think the weather conditions make the walk unsafe.”
