Young­sters shine dur­ing busy week

It was a busy week­end for Liv­ingston RFC’s youth teams as they bat­tled White­craigs as part of the Galant Mit­subishi Con­fer­ence.

The un­der-18 side fought hard right un­til the end but were out­done 34-24 al­though the pos­i­tive per­for­mance gave the coach­ing team plenty to be happy with as the team con­tinue to progress. Jamie McGrotty, Kyle Steel and Alex Bruce scored Livi’s tries.

The un­der-16 out­fit never ap­peared un­der pres­sure and eased to a 43-5 vic­tory with tries from An­drew Brown, Adam Mar­tin, Henry Fore­hand and An­drew Murchi­son.

Aaron Gre­gory was the star of the show for the un­der-15s as his five tries helped his team win 64-9.

Jose An­to­nios (two), Jamie Rus­sell and Jamie Mor­row also scored while Cammy Philp (four) and Kayne Ma­cAulay (three) added con­ver­sions.

Un­der-13 coach Keith Hill said his team’s fresh legs proved the dif­fer­ence in a stun­ning sec­ond half as they stormed to vic­tory, grab­bing 10 tries and eight con­ver­sions in the process.

Ross Mor­ri­son (five), Jamie Wil­son (two), Matt Hill, Ryan Boyd and Fraser Wor­rall grabbed the tries with Boyd also adding two con­ver­sions to his name in a fine win.

Isaac Hain (three), Ben Philp (two) and Wil­son also kicked two-point­ers for Livi.
