Two points sep­a­rate five clubs

Re­sults else­where on Satur­day mean that the top five teams in the Cham­pi­onship are sep­a­rated by just two points while Brechin City are still search­ing for their first vic­tory.

There were 11 yel­low cards and two red cards is­sued in a feisty af­fair at Falkirk Sta­dium as the Bairns drew 1-1 in their derby clash with Dun­fermline Ath­letic.

Kal­lum Hig­gin­botham gave the Pars a 28th-minute lead from the spot be­fore he was later dis­missed for two yel­lows in the early stages of the sec­ond half.

Jor­dan McGhee fired home the lev­eller on 64 min­utes be­fore Dun­fermline were re­duced to nine men fol­low­ing De­clan McManus be­ing shown his sec­ond yel­low in in­jury-time.

Dundee United de­feated St Mir­ren 2-1 at Tan­nadice with the teams now joint top on 23 points. Mark Dur­nan and Sam Stan­ton found the net for the hosts with Adam Eck­er­s­ley grab­bing a con­so­la­tion in in­jury-time for St Mir­ren.

Scott Dob­bie and Cal­lum Fordyce scored as Queen of the South grabbed a 2-1 away win at Mor­ton while a Wil­lie Dyer own goal in the 90th minute saw Brechin City suf­fer a 1-0 home de­feat to Dum­bar­ton.
