A West Lothian business has scooped a top award.

2018 is a landmark year for Bathgate based haulage firm D&J Sibbald, and this month the familyrun business was awarded with the prestigiou­s title of‘Scottish Haulage Company of the Year’at the Transport News Scotland Scottish Rewards event which was held at the Crowne Plaza, Glasgow.

Formed in 1933 by brothers, David and John Sibbald, D&J Sibbald is still very much a family affair today with brothers Russell and Ralph (sons of John) at the helm.

Russell Sibbald, partner, said:“We are honoured to receive this award and would like to take this opportunit­y to thank our hard working team and loyal customers.

“This is the perfect way to kick start our 85th anniversar­y.”

With a fleet of 15 trucks and 20 trailers, the firm serves customers throughout the United Kingdom, across many industries, providing transport services for civil engineerin­g supplies, fast moving consumer goods, industrial manufactur­ing components and retail infrastruc­ture materials.

Based at the depot in Bathgate, the company is a proud supporter of the many West Lothian gala day events which run throughout the summer months, supplying trucks, trailers and drivers for the schools, charities and local organisati­ons for their floats in the procession­s.
