HELP ME FIND JOE
Owner’s emotional appeal
The distraught owners of a dog missing for seven weeks have issued a heartfelt plea to find him.
Billy and Christine Hossack have been desperately searching for seven-year-old lurcher Joe, who ran away on October 5.
Despite some sightings of their beloved dog, the couple have no idea where he is and are hoping their appeal will provide information to find him.
Billy and Christine had moved from St Andrew’s Way in Deans, Livingston to Hillhouse Avenue in Bathgate and believe Joe may have been trying to find his way back to his former home.
Billy said on the day Joe went missing he had returned home and his pet had appeared nervous at his new surroundings.
And when he let the dog out into the back garden he jumped over his neighbours fence into their garden and escaped from there.
Billy said: “I chased him as far as Belvedere but then three pugs joined in the chase, I managed to keep up until around Mid Street and Jarvey Street but lost him.
“The last time he was seen was 45 minutes later at the train station. There have been a few possible sightings since then but nothing confirmed.”
Billy said his family have been in touch with the police, dog warden and rescue centres in West Lothian and beyond and have put up fliers around the county, but have had no joy in finding Joe, who is microchipped.
He hopes someone has taken him in and are unaware his owners are searching for him.
Billy added: “We are all in bits, our grandchildren are really upset.
“We’re appealing to anyone who has seen him or has taken him in and is looking after him to get in touch.”
