As always, they will be ably accompanied by the excellent West Calder Brass Band. There will be an eclectic mix of music from the shows, pop music and traditional seasonal songs. Mid Calder Women’s Group has re-opened its waiting list. The Club is for ladies from the age of 50 onwards and it is held on a Monday from 1 p.m. to 3.30pm in the Institute Hall, Mid Calder. There are outings, various speakers, quizzes, bingo, games days, Halloween party, St. Andrew’s Day party, and also a summer outing with high tea provided as well as a Christmas lunch in a local hotel. Mid Calder Boys’ Brigade meets in the Glenalmond Church Hall on Friday nights. Places are available for all age groups:- Anchors P1 to P2, 6.30pm - 7.30pm, Juniors P3 - P6 and Company Section P7 and older, 7.30pm - 9.00pm. from 10.30am till 11.30am. We usually meet in the church to start with, then go down to the hall for songs, games, stories and fun. Mid Calder Toddler Group meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 11am in the Institute Hall, Market Street, Mid Calder If any parent/ carer has a ‘hidden talent’ you wish to share with the babies/toddlers please speak to a committee member at Toddlers or contact us through our Facebook page. It could be crafts or singing/dancing - don’t be shy - we need your help.

Fairtrade Cafe welcomes anyone who would like to join us on a Tuesday morning between 10am and 12 noon in the Glenalmond Hall where home baking is on sale and all funds raised go to street children of Peru c/o the Vine Trust. Come along and help us to promote fair trade and make new friends. The Fair Trade café is run by the Kirk of Calder.
Clothing bank is situated to the front of the Glenalmond Hall. Please bring any good quality clean clothes, belts, paired shoes, ties, handbags (in a bag) and place in the recycling bank. Liv’n Harmony Singers is an adult choir with a difference. Meets on a Thursday evening 7.30pm to 9.30pm in the Black Bull, Mid Calder where the emphasis is on fun and laughter as much as singing.
