All other prescripti­ons due out with these dates should be ordered as normal Scout Post this year we are delivering cards in Addiewell, West Calder & Polbeth at a cost of 25p per card. Post boxes are situate in West Calder at CDT Office: Gillies Butchers: Unique Hairdressi­ng: West Calder Library & the West Kirk, we will also have a box at Fair in the Square (9th Dec) In Polbeth we shall have a box in the Church. Scout Group We have vacancies in all sections for boys and girls: Beavers - Age 6 to 8yrs- meet on a Monday evening in the West Kirk Hall from 6.15 until 7.15pm. Cubs - Age 8yrs to 10yrs 6months - meet on a Wednesday evening in the West Kirk Hall from 6.15 until 7.30pm. Scouts - Age 10yrs 6months to 14yrs - meet on a Thursday evening in the West Kirk Hall from 6.30 until 8.30pm. Explorers - Age 14yrs to 18yrs - meet on a Thursday evening at the Community Garden from 6.20 until 8.40pm. We are also looking for adult helpers in the Beaver and Scout sections. Polbeth Harwood Church Sunday morning worship starts at 11:15am where a warm welcome awaits. JAM club has now resumed and all children are very welcome to join us, there is a crèche every Sunday for children under 3yrs of age and bible stories and activities planned for the older children. Join us in the hall after the service for a cuppa. Sunday Club meets at 9:45am for all children age 3-P7, there is a crèche every Sunday for children under 3yrs of age. The Bible Class for older kids meets the second Sunday in every month, meeting first in the church at 9.45am.Everyone is very welcome to join us. Gifts donated under the tree will go to Bethany Trust house & local families in Bathgate.

Fayre in the Square o n 9th December. The community Christmas Market in the Square with performanc­es from the brass band and other groups throughout the event. Also with the switching on of the lights of the Christmas tree which will be supplied by the CDT.

Citizens Advice Bureau West Lothian has an outreach project every Tuesday at 1, 2, and 3pm at the West Calder Medical Practice. The Christmas Choir West Kirk of Calder, rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 7pm - 8.30pm in the church. Everyone is welcome and you don’t have to be able to read music, and as we all lead busy lives don’t worry if you can’t make every rehearsal either. The Carol Concert this year is Friday 15th December at 7pm, with the usual mince pies and goodies afterwards in the hall. It’s a great way to get into the Christmas spirit and of course raise money for whatever charities the choir decide to support for this year. Any queries please call or text Carolyn on 07768 924720. Rosebery Centre (a day centre that works closely with people within the community who lives with Dementia) at Polbeth Harwood Church Chapelton Terrace Polbeth. The day service opens three days per week Tuesday Wednesday & Thursday. There are two staff members Anne Marson Manager and Karon Sheridan Assistant

WLFIN have new group supporting ex carers. When the caring role ends, the ex-carer faces financial and emotional isolation. The group aims to reduce isolation, increase confidence and also help those who are of working age attain employabil­ity skills. There will be free organised weekly meetings/sessions covering a range of topics chosen by the attendees. There will also be the opportunit­y to access digital inclusion using a tablet to keep in touch with family and friends, learn how to do this safely and gain confidence and skills in using the internet. For working age attendees the opportunit­y to access employabil­ity support held in a group or individual­ly. To assist with the financial burdens there will be welfare and benefit advice and also budgeting classes and sessions.
