caught up with Katie she was enjoying a shopping trip with her family and she’d just invested in a stylish pair of Nike trainers from JD Sports.

Katie said: “I really like Nikes - they’re so comfy and they’ll be perfect for when I’m walking into uni. I also found a nice pair of gloves which will be great for winter.”

The Street Style Squad couldn’t resist checking out the purchases of Billy Stevenson, 28, from East Kilbride. Billy works in sales and had popped to The Centre with his girlfriend to do some Christmas shopping.

While they were browsing the shops Billy spotted a cool khaki shirt in Topman reduced from £30 down to just £12. Billy said: “I like checking out the sales rails when I’m shopping as you can get some real bargains.”

The next shopper with a passion for fashion was Carol McGachie, a 49- year- old practice nurse from Edinburgh.

Carol was visiting The Centre with friends and had her eye on a pair of velvet trousers for Christmas but ended up getting a luxurious, cosy dressing gown from Topshop.

Carol said: “The dressing gown will be lovely for winter and I really like the fluffy hood. We’ve had a good look around and finished our shopping for the day, now we’re off for a nice meal.”

Next up on the style radar was Ashleigh Kelly ( 29), an office administrator from Hamilton. Ashleigh was visiting The Centre with her boyfriend to look for a few stocking fillers for Christmas when she saw a pair of distressed skinny jeans in Topshop.

Ashleigh said: “I’m nearly sorted for Christmas now, there’s just a few small items still to get.

“I’m really happy with what I’ve bought.”

Our final stylish shopper was Sarah Simpson, a 20-yearold student from Inverness, currently studying at the University of Glasgow.

While browsing the shops Sarah snapped up a pair of black Adidas trainers in JD Sports.

Sarah said: “The trainers I got are really cool and great for uni. I’m also on the look out for chunky knits, warm layers and big scarves to update my wardrobe for winter.

“I’ve not really started my Christmas shopping yet - I’m hoping that a few things will catch my eye when I’m looking around the shops.”

Ashley Bisland, Deputy Centre Director at The Centre, said: “The festive season was in full swing at The Centre, with visitors busy tracking down some gorgeous stocking fillers which were guaranteed to bring smiles all round on Christmas morning.

“Families were taking time out to visit Santa’s Grotto or enjoying a tasty festive treat to revive them after a long day of Christmas shopping.

“The Centre Gift Cards have been particularly popular in the run up to Christmas – the perfect way to give the gift of choice and allow loved ones to grab a bargain or two in the sales.”
