Have say on post office move
Plans have been unveiled to relocate Mid Calder Post Office.
The Post Office is proposing to relocate the branch to a new location where it will open as a modern openplan local-style branch at Omnicare Pharmacy in the village’s Main Street.
This is 40 metres from the present post office.
Now customers and interested parties are invited to give their comments on the move in a six- week public consultation.
The proposed move, in agreement with the current postmaster, is part of major modernisation programme designed to make it easier for customers to do business, through modern open plan environments.
Suzanne Richardson, Post Office Regional Network manager, said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.
“We are confident this vibrant new- style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.
“This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office.”
Dur ing the public consultation, Post Office Ltd welcomes feedback on any issues customers would like considered before a final decision is taken.
The consultation will close on April 4 2018.
