Memory cafe invite Can you help feed a family over Easter?

West Lothian Foodbank launches new campaign

- Marjorie Kerr

Memory Cave Café, Armadale is a meeting place where people who have any form of dementia, and their carers, can come to meet others in a similar situation for support and social contact, a cup of tea or coffee and home baking.

Carers on their own are also welcome, as are people with dementia who are able to make their own way there.

Come along for the whole session, or you are welcome to just drop in for as long as you like. The café runs on the third Friday of every month from 10am to noon at Armadale Community Centre, North Street.

We s t Lothian Foodbank is encouraging the public to back its latest campaign.

The group has just launched its # 40for40 Challenge in the run-up to Easter.

We s t Lothian Foodbank manager, Kathleen Neilly, said: “With people struggling to afford food living locally, it is important that we can continue to support families in crisis throughout the Easter period.

“That ’ s why we provide nutritionally balanced emergency food, emotional support and practical advice to families who live near you and really need us.”

We s t Lothian Foodbank is asking people to give up 40 pence for 40 days.

With the addition of Gift Aid this comes to £20.

People are also invited to challenge themselves to give something up during this period, and donate the cost of what they save to West Lothian Foodbank.

At the end of Lent, on March 29, supporters are asked to bank the money they have raised and send a cheque (made payable to West Lothian Foodbank with ‘ Lent’ on the reverse) together with a Gift Aid Form - to West Lothian Foodbank, Answer House, Reveston Lane, Whitburn, EH47 8HJ.

Alternatively, supporters can also donate online at WestLothian.foodbank. org.uk/donate-money
