The team is made up of Mid Calder Primary 6 and Primary 7 pupils and takes part in inter school Gala matches including our very own Jak Trueman Inter School Challenge Cup which is played at Mid Calder Gala Park during our gala week . All members please note. Mid Calder Gala Committee are holding a fundraising night on Saturday 10th March from 7pm until midnight in the Masonic Hall, Mid Calder. The Gatsby Extravaganza is an evening of themed music, food, games and prizes. On arrival, you will be served a glass of prosecco by Scotland’s hottest buff butler who will also pose with you for photographs. A night not to be missed!! Ceilidh After its success in 2017, the Mid Calder Ceilidh makes a return for 2018! Get Saturday 3rd March in your diary, as we welcome fantastic upand-coming Campbeltown trad act ‘Rhuvaal’ to the Lothians, along with energetic local band ‘5 Strings’. Get ready for a night of Scottish anthems, great craic, and ceilidh dancing in the Masonic Hall, Mid Calder! Bacon rolls will be available on the evening, and there will also be a raffle to raise money for Mid Calder Children’s Gala & Mid Calder Tartan Army. Advance tickets £10 are available online at Mid Calder Gala Facebook page, or in person at the Black Bull or Park View. Mid Calder Boys’ Brigade meets in the Glenalmond Church Hall on Friday nights. Places are available for all age groups:- Anchors P1 to P2, 6.30pm - 7.30pm, Juniors P3 - P6 and Company Section P7 and older, 7.30pm - 9.00pm. Mid Calder Community Council is due to hold their next meeting on Thursday 08 March. Due to the closure of Park View in the Auld School, School Lane an alternative venue may be required. in the Glenalmond Hall on Sundays from 10.30am till 11.30am. We usually meet in the church to start with, then go down to the hall for songs, games, stories and fun. Either come along or make contact through the Kirk’s Facebook page if you would like to enrol your child; we would be delighted to see children from 3 years upwards. Come and join our happy family.

Mid Calder Toddler Group meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 11am in the Institute Hall, Market Street, Mid Calder If any parent/ carer has a ‘hidden talent’ you wish to share with the babies/toddlers please speak to a committee member at Toddlers or contact us through our Facebook page. It could be crafts or singing/dancing - don’t be shy - we need your help.

Fairtrade Cafe welcomes anyone who would like to join us on a Tuesday morning between 10am and 12 noon in the Glenalmond Hall where home baking is on sale and all funds raised go to street children of Peru c/o the Vine Trust. Come along and help us to promote fair trade and make new friends. The Fair Trade café is run by the Kirk of Calder.

Clothing bank is situated to the front of the Glenalmond Hall. Please bring any good quality clean clothes, belts, paired shoes, ties, handbags (in a bag) and place in the recycling bank. Liv’n Harmony Singers is an adult choir with a difference. Meets on a Thursday evening 7.30pm to 9.30pm in the Black Bull, Mid Calder where the emphasis is on fun and laughter as much as singing.
