Primrose turn tables on Livi

- Crossgates P...2 Livingston U.........1

Bathgate Thistle gave a battling display at home to Premier League leaders Musselburgh Athletic but came away with nothing to show for their efforts.

It marked a second consecutive home loss for the Creamery Park side after they conceded twice in the closing stages last weekend against local rivals Whitburn.

Ross Harkness in the Jags goal was the busier of the two goalkeepers during the first half but a string of neat saves and some poor finishing from the league leaders meant the deadlock hadn’t been broken at the half-time whistle.

The hosts, though, took Livingston United were edged out by Crossgates Primrose as they fell to a 2-1 away defeat in their South Division clash.

United had taken the lead through Kyle Miller but they were unable to hold on as two Primrose goals gave them all three points.

Elsewhere in the bottom tier, Stoneyburn suffered a 7-0 defeat at the hands of Oakley United away from home.

Despite the final score, the Fulshie were trailing by just three goals with seven minutes left on the clock before a late surge from United saw them rattle home four more before the final whistle.

The West Lothian derby clash between South Division promotion challengers West Calder United and Pumpherston was called off due to the Cauther’s Herman Park being unplayable.

That wasn’t the only South Division clash that lost out to the weather as Armadale Thistle, who are also firmly in the hunt for a top two spot, saw their clash against Easthouses Lily at Volunteer Park cancelled.

Fauldhouse United’s Premier League fixture at home to Glenrothes also was postponed until a later date.
