Style springs at The Centre
New clothing to banish the cold spell
It may still feel like winter outside but shoppers at The Centre in Livingston are escaping the cold weather and taking time to revamp their wardrobe with the hottest spring trends.
When the Street Style Squad visited The Centre this week to check out shoppers’ latest purchases, they were treated to a fabulous selection of on-trend pieces. With over 150 shops to choose from, visitors are truly spoilt for choice and bags were bursting at the seams with transitional layers and investment pieces.
As well as lighter jackets, shoppers were indulging in elegant tailored trousers in pastel hues, contemporary circle handbags and vibrant statement earrings – all guaranteed to add a touch of new season style to any ensemble.
Six stylish shoppers were selected to share their fabulous new purchases in return for a Gift Card worth £25, courtesy of The Centre, which can be used in over 70 stores and all restaurants in the shopping centre.
The first person to catch our Style Squad’s eye was chic shopper Kamila Radko (23), a machine operator from Livingston.
Kamila had popped down to The Centre with her sister looking for a few last-minute sales bargains when she spotted a floral velvet dress for just £3 in the New Look sale.
Kamila said: “I really like the colours in this dress and the ruffled shoulders make it a bit different and interesting – it’s perfect for an evening out.”
Our next stylish shopper was Stacey Ellis (30), an assistant manager in Kirkcaldy. Stacey was visiting The Centre with a friend on the hunt for a new outfit for a job interview when a cosy winter jacket in Dorothy Perkins caught her eye.
Stacey said: “I’ve managed to find a nice top and cardigan in Debenhams . I’m really pleased with the jacket – I love the faux fur collar and the bomber jacket cuffs, plus it’s a great length.”
The next shopper to catch our Style Squad’s eye was Lynsey Campbell (27) from Carstairs. Lynsey is a physiotherapist and was enjoying a shopping trip with her mum on her day off.
Lynsey said: “I came to The Centre with my mum to pick up a few things we’d ordered from M&S. While we were here I called in to Topshop to try on a few pairs of jeans and they fitted perfectly – I ended up getting one pair in the sale then paid full price for an extra pair as they’re just what I was looking for.”
Our next shopper with a passion for fashion was Elaine Bell ( 59) from Blackburn.
She came to The Centre looking for a few transitional pieces to add to her Spring wardrobe and found just what she was looking for in Debenhams and Dorothy Perkins – including a cosy grey marl jumper featuring batwing sleeves and pearl detailing.
Elaine said: “The jumper I got is lovely, particularly the pearl embellishment, and will go well with simple black leggings.”
Next up on our style radar was Patricia Radko (18), a student of environmental protection, from Poland.
Patricia was visiting family in Livingston and when the Street Style Squad caught up with her, she had bagged a bargain with a chic cropped burgundy lace top for £3 from New Look. Patricia said: “I came looking for a pair of jeans but couldn’t resist getting this top. I love the style and the rich burgundy colour.”
Our final lucky shopper was Anne Marie Robertson (53) a nurse from Edinburgh.
Anne Marie was browsing the shops with her family looking for a nice pair of jeans when she saw a stylish mustard faux suede trench jacket in River Island for £60.
Anne Marie said: “My daughter lives nearby so I pop into The Centre quite often. As well as the jacket, I also found a great black evening dress in River Island so it has certainly been a successful trip.”
