Whitburn aim for major cup upset

Whitburn will be looking to cause a major upset in the East of Scotland Cup when they face top-flight Newtongrange Star on Saturday for a place in the fourth round draw.

The Burnie routed Harthill Royal 6-2 in the last round and will need to be at their best to defeat their Superleague opponents.

In the South Division Pumpherston will edge closer to the title if they return from Easthouses Lily MW with a win.

They currently sit four points clear of their closest challengers Edinburgh United but they have three games in hand over the capital club.

Armadale Thistle are favourites to pick up three points as they travel to basement boys Kirkcaldy YM.
