Whitburn aim for major cup upset

-

Whitburn will be looking to cause a major upset in the East of Scotland Cup when they face top-flight Newtongrange Star on Saturday for a place in the fourth round draw.

The Burnie routed Harthill Royal 6-2 in the last round and will need to be at their best to defeat their Superleague opponents.

There is a derby clash in the Fife and Lothians Cup as Bathgate Thistle visit Gibbshill Park to take on Harthill Royal, with the hosts desperate to prove their defeat at the hands of the Burnie was a blip on their impressive run.

In league action both West Lothian Superleague sides are away from home, Linlithgow Rose visiting Hill of Beath Hawthorn and Broxburn making the trip to Kennoway Star Hearts.

Premier League promotion hopefuls Fauldhouse United are at home to St Andrews United while Blackburn host Dalkeith Thistle.

In the South Division Pumpherston will edge closer to the title if they return from Easthouses Lily MW with a win.

They currently sit four points clear of their closest challengers Edinburgh United but they have three games in hand over the capital club.

Armadale Thistle are favourites to pick up three points as they travel to basement boys Kirkcaldy YM.

West Lothian’s bottom two sides meet up at Station Park as Livingston United host Stoneyburn.
