Fun built in at Mini Maker sessions

- Staff reporter

Lego fans are in for a real treat this Easter at The Centre, Livingston.

The first interactive Mini Maker event will be held from April 4-8 from 10am till 4pm, featuring model and minifigure building sessions and the display of an awesome 8m long Flying Scotsman, created using 100,000 Lego bricks.

Come along and explore the intricate details, from mini bricks used to make coal and frosted windows to regular bricks forming the curve of the engine. Your mini makers are sure to take away oodles of ideas for their own home designs.

The free family event also includes a Lego bricks pit for little ones to dive into while older fans are welcome to spend the day at the play tables, where there will be 15kg of Lego bricks to ensure imaginations run wild.

For a super-special treat bring your mini maker to our Make and Take event, where Lego artists will help them to build their own models to take home.

They can choose from a wide selection of Easter and transport-themed models – and even a unicorn.

Limited spaces are available at the Make and Take sessions so get there early to ensure your spot. Sessions are allocated on a first come, first served basis and limited to one model per person.

These will be held each day of the event at 10am to 11am, 11.30am to 12.30pm, 1pm to 2pm and 2.30pm to 3.30pm.

Families are also being encouraged to work their way around The Centre to check out the full event, which also includes taking part in the public creation of a giant 2m x 2m spring mosaic to be displayed in the mall.

If you are looking for an alternative Easter gift head along to the Minifigure Zone, where children can create their own Lego minifigure, costing £2 each, with all proceeds going to West Lothian Youth Foundation.

Finally, complete your fun-filled family day out with an Easter egg hunt to find all 15 Lego Easter eggs hidden around The Centre.

Take on the challenge and be in with the chance of winning a Lego Easter egg and family lunch.

We’ll be choosing one winner every day for five days. All children will receive a sticker and certificate of excellence for taking part.

Terms and conditions apply. Activities subject to change. Please note that some activities are not suitable for under-threes due to small parts. Please speak to our events team on the day for more information.
