Skye’s no limit for the two Alans

LRC duo Alan Knowles and Alan Cunningham had good runs in the Isle of Skye Half Marathon.

The former finished in 20th place in 1:29.01 with the latter not far behind in 39th place in a time of 1:33.59.

Amber, Hannah and Ben Cunningham ran well in the associated Junior Run.

Amber finished in third in the 5-8 years age group and seventh overall with Hannah seventh in the 5-8 years category.

In the over-12 group, Ben finished in 12th place.

Lothian Running Club had a successful evening in the recent West Lothian College 5k race in Livingston.

The club had the leading two male finishers, first female and first veteran female. Race winner was Malcolm Lang in 16.51. He was chased home in second place by Jo Williams (18.08) who was leading female.

Bryan Innes (18.31) followed in third to make it an LRC first three. Finishing 11th overall was Yvonne Crilley (20.07) who picked up the prize for first female vet.

Hannah Steel reached the final of the girls 800 metres at the Scottish Schools Championsh­ips at Grangemout­h. Representi­ng West Calder HS, Hannah finished seventh in the final in 2:28.26.

Sarah Inglis made a welcome return to competitiv­e action in Canada following a spell on the sidelines with an injury.

Sarah was the leading female in both the West Vancouver Summer 5k run and the West Van Ambleside Mile. Her time in the latter was 5.04 while in the 5k she crossed the finish line in 17.11.
