Livingston’s First XI made it seven wins from seven with a comfortable 93-run home victory over Carlton as they remain top of the ESCA Division Two table.

Captain Ahmed Ali put in a stunning display with an unbeaten 98 as well as taking three wickets for just 19 runs as he guided his team to victory.

Conditions were perfect for batting and Livi were put in first after Carlton won the toss.

Opener Kash Khalid took full advantage of the conditions to hit a rapid 55 before Ahmed Ali set about the bowlers with his majestic knock. Salman Ali put in a good shift scoring 49 before being run out as Livi tallied 251-4 from their 40 overs.

That always looked to be more than enough and an early wicket from Bilal Riaz put the hosts on track. Josh Mill, making his First XI debut, took two wickets and the team bowled and fielded exceptionally well to dismiss Carlton for 158 inside 35 overs.

It was double delight for the club as the Second XI jumped up to third in the Division Five table with a 39run win over Kirk Brae.

Batting first, Livi scored 177 with Kamlesh Marshiya top-scoring with 68 not out.

Father and son duo Sushil and Sadhil Jindal led the bowling efforts with five wickets between them.

Both teams face Largo this weekend with the Firsts at home and Seconds away while the Thirds are in Sunday action at home to Murrayfield DAFS.

In Division Three, Fauldhouse Vics slumped to a 71-run defeat away to Leith FAB.

A solid bowling display ensured the hosts were dismissed for 168 in the 33rd over, with D. Law impressing with figures of 8-2-18-5.

However, the batsmen were skittled out for 97 in 35 overs as they remain with just one win this season.

Linlithgow made a costly error in putting Clackmannan County into bat at home in the Division One fixture as the hosts blasted their way to 268-3 from their overs.

The home side were struggling at 47-5 before respectability was restored by the middle order with Partick Bennie adding 38 not out. With 10 overs remaining and weather deteriorating, the captains shook hands and Linlithgow were defeated on the DL method by 116 runs.

The Second XI also lost as they went down by eight wickets away to Watsonians Thirds in Division Four.

Batting first, Linlithgow scored 199-9 but that was never likely to be enough as the hosts sealed victory.
