Two more additions to squad

-

Livingston added to their defensive options heading into the Premiership with two new arrivals this week.

Callum Crane signs from Hibernian while Lions fan Ricki Lamie makes the move from Greenock Morton.

The pair will tussle it out with returning players Declan Gallagher, Alan Lithgow and Jack McMillan for game time next term, while former Scotland cap Steven Saunders is also in the mix after arriving from Welsh champions The New Saints.

Harthill lad Lamie turns 25 later this month and previously enjoyed a loan spell at Bathgate Thistle during his time at Airdrieonians.

Crane arrives on a two-year deal and was named in the League One Team of the Year at left-back after an impressive season on loan at Alloa Athletic last term as the Wasps were promoted to the Championship.

Interim boss David Martindale is delighted with the arrival of both players and he said:“I’m really happy to secure Ricki’s signature as there were a few clubs chasing him.

“Ricki is a Livi fan and it’s always that little bit easier getting deals over the line when a player has an emotional attachment to the club.

“He is big, strong and powerful and can play left-back or centre-back. He has a great left foot and will bring balance, being able to play in either a back three or four comfortably.

“Ricki has played over 100 games in the Championship, so he has plenty of experience at a very good level.”

He added:“I’m excited by the signing of Callum as I believe he can play in a variety of positions.

“He is a more natural left-back but can play one up at left midfield and I think he can be adapted to play left centre midfield given time.

“I have had various scout reports on Callum and watched him myself since the start of last season. Everything was positive and I felt we had to try to get him on board.

“It’s an exciting younger signing for the club. I’m hoping he can come in this season and stake a claim for a jersey but getting him on a two-year deal will allow him time to bed-in and develop for the longer term benefit of both himself and the club.”
