Thanked for their loyalty
Long service recognised
The outstanding contributions of four long- serving members of the West Lothian 50+ Network have been recognised.
One of the longestserving members, Mary Ferrie, who held the office of network secretary, had served on the committee for some 23 years, while Helen Orr, who has organised many of the network’s members’ holidays, has totted up some 20 years of service to the organisation.
Mary and Helen both stepped down from the committee at the organisation’s recent AGM in May.
At that time Judith Hanna also stepped down as convener and Isobel Wilson stepped down as treasurer.
Judith’s and Isobel’s cont r ibutions were acknowledged at the AGM when incoming convener Anne Webster thanked them for their service and presented them with flowers.
The r ema r k a b l e contributions made by Mary and Helen were marked at the network members’ meeting on June 16, when a buffet was laid on to celebrate their achievements, with special presentations and cake.
New convener Anne Webster said: “We are all indebted to the dedication and hard work that has gone to making the Network a continued success over the years since its inception.
“Next year the Network celebrates its 25th anniversary and has gone from strength to strength. The work of our retiring members will be a hard act to follow.”
