A West Lothian firm has been named a finalist in the European Business Awards for the Environment.

Livingston-based Paterson Arran has been named as one of two British companies shortlisted for the prestigious accolade. The award recognises businesses demonstrating outstanding effort and commitment to sustainable and environmentallyfriendly development. With a selection of 22 companies f rom nine European countries named as finalists, Paterson Arran will be vying for the top prize within the management category, which will be announced at the highly- anticipated award ceremony in Vienna on November 14.

It’s not the first time that Paterson Arran has been hailed for its environmental sustainability. The business has been awarded and subsequently retained the ISO 14001 accreditation for environmental management since 2009 and has been crowned winners of the 2017 Vision in Business for the Environment of Scotland ( VIBES) awards for sustainable practice and living.

Adam Wilson, technical manager at Paterson Arran, said: “We are delighted to make it through to the final of this year’s European Business Awards for the Environment. We have reduced our environmental impact each year since first f o rmalising an Environmental Management System (EMS) in 2009. This nomination is testament to the hard work of all of our employees in contributing to the success of our EMS and the delivery of our compre h e n s i v e Environmental Targets Programme.”
