Fixtures out for East of Scotland
West Lothian’s three East of Scotland Football League teams know who they’ll be facing on the opening day of the season after the fixtures were released earlier this week.
Blackburn United, Broxburn Athletic and Linlithgow Rose all made the switch from the Juniors to senior over the course of the summer and will now be part of the SPFL pyramid system.
All three teams will play in Conference C of the 2018/19 East of Scotland season, with the top five teams in all three conferences then forming the Premier League for the following season.
The winners of each conference will play in a round robin competition for the right to play off against the South of Scotland League champions, with the victor then being promoted to the Lowland League.
Broxburn Athletic’s first Conference C fixture is an away trip to Camelon on Tuesday, August 14 (7pm).
Linlithgow Rose begin their bid for promotion the following day away at Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts, although that is subject to change should the Rose be drawn in the Scottish Cup Preliminary Round and that game subsequently goes to a replay.
Blackburn United’s first league fixture is away to Preston Athletic on Tuesday, August 21.
The first home league games for all three teams fall on Saturday, August 25.
Blackburn host Craigroyston, Broxburn take on Ormiston and Linlithgow face Stirling University.
The season kicks off on July 28 with the East of Scotland Qualifying League.
United travel to Arniston Rangers in Section A with Linlithgow Rose making the trip to Crossgates Rose in a Section C fixture.
B roxburn At h l e t i c host a fellow East Region Superleague side from last term in their Section G clash with Dundonald Bluebell.
