Marc on the move again

-

Former Livingston striker Marc McNulty has completed a £1.2million move from Coventry City to Reading after a phenomenal campaign in which he helped the Sky Blues to promotion from League Two.

The 25-year-old netted 28 goals as City secured promotion with a play-off final victory against Exeter City.

McNulty left the Lions for Sheffield United following the 2013-14 season but despite a decent first campaign for the Blades, it was an unsuccessful move and he was released last summer, meaning Livi missed out on any sell-on clause.

The striker said:“Reading are a huge club and the Championship is full of other massive sides and great players.

“It is up to me now to make that step up and see how far I can go with the club. You want to test yourself against the best players possible and you can do it on this stage.

“At Coventry we played against Stoke in the cup and I’ve had similar situations at Sheffield United when we’ve come up against Premier League teams.”

He added:“We had a special moment in the play-off final and it was great to play at Wembley. I signed for Coventry with the aim of getting promoted and we achieved that the difficult way, or perhaps the best way.

“It’s an occasion you’ll remember for the rest of your days and it was great to get promoted.”
