Shoppers show off summer street style
Heat is on this year in fashion stakes…
With the scorching summer rolling on, shoppers are heading to The Centre in Livingston enticed by the summer sales and latest trends for all their holiday shopping.
Wild animal prints, sparkly sequins and bold patterns have been found in visitors’ bags when our Style Squad visited The Centre earlier this month.
Six stylish shoppers were selected to share their gorgeous new purchases in return for a Gift Card worth £25, courtesy of The Centre, which can be used in over 70 stores and all restaurants in the shopping centre.
Our first stylish shopper was Natasha Whitehall, an 18-year-old student studying architecture at Dundee University.
Natasha picked up a leopard print playsuit with a draped waist from Debenhams.
She said: “I like to stay on trend when shopping for summer. I’m really into prints, layering and bright colours this season and feel the playsuit encapsulates them all.”
The next person to showcase their purchases was 22-year-old Finlay Miller, a CNC machinist from Dundee. He was visiting The Centre on the lookout for summer clothes in preparation for his holiday break.
Finlay bought a Pretty Green white polo shirt from Xile.
He said: “I’ve always liked the brand Pretty Green so it’s great that it is available here. I enjoy wearing lighter weight clothes and pairing a smart shirt with jeans and I will be able to do this with my new polo.”
Next up was 20-year-old Sean Robinson. He’s a packaging designer from Livingston and a part-time business management student at Robert Gordon
University. Sean bought a shortsleeved white shirt and knee-length denim shorts from River Island. Sean said: “I like to take inspiration from my friends for style trends and outfit combinations, which is where my choice of purchases came from today.”
Our next shopper was Reece Mainland ( 20) from Livingston who works as a Sky customer service advisor. He was taking advantage of the sales ahead of a holiday in Lanzarote and picked up a trendy white t-shirt with a slogan in black.
Reece said: “I enjoy exploring a few different shops when I’m looking for clothes, usually it’s Xile, JD, River Island and Topman.”
Graduate and primary school teacher Brittany Edwards (22), from Broxburn, was next.
She’s jetting off to Ibiza and Brittany bought white sliders with a gold and silver sparkle detail and white wedges, with a peep-toe and open heel.
Brittany said: “I love the trend for chic white pieces and so these two pairs of shoes are perfect for what I was looking for and the sparkle detail adds a bit of glam to them.”
