two then.”

The next person to catch our Style Squad’s eye was Kyle Brown, an 18-yearold waiter from Edinburgh. Kyle had popped to The Centre on his day off with a couple of friends and after a tasty lunch at Nando’s they decided to have a wander around the shops.

Kyle had just bought a stylish white polo shirt with Italian flag detailing from Xile Clothing for £27 – perfect for a night out when teamed with a pair of smart jeans.

Kyle said: “I like all of the relaxed streetwear that’s around at the moment and when I’m in The Centre I usually head to Footlocker to check out what they have in store – I’m on the hunt for a pair of everyday shoes, nothing too clunky.

“The polo shirt I got is great – I prefer a loose fit shirt so this is just what I was after.”

The Street Style Squad couldn’t resist checking out the purchases of Fabiana Duarte (18), a sales assistant from West Calder.

Fabiana had just been looking at the array of offerings in Lovisa and picked up a beautiful watch for £ 16 with a transparent face and rose gold detailing.

Fabiana said: “I love the design and the way that the strap shows through the watch, it’s modern and versatile and will go with anything.

“When I visit The Centre, places like Topshop, River Island and New Look are my go- to shops. I love the range of vibrant colours this season and I’m always keeping my eye out for a great pair of jeans.”

Our next shopper with a passion for fashion was Cristina Barbu, a 31-yearold picker from Livingston. Cristina was visiting The Centre with her partner for a lazy day of shopping and keeping an eye out for any summer sale bargains.

When the Street Style Squad caught up with her Cristina had just bought a cropped slogan sweatshirt with rainbow stripe detailing for £15 in the River Island sale.

Cristina said: “We’ve had a great day, stopped for a quick lunch at Burger King before having a look around the shops. I like everything about the top I got – from the slogan and the loose cut to the bright colours. I’d wear it with jeans for daytime and for £15 it was a real bargain.”

Next up on our style radar was Meme Charamba (44) a support worker from Kettering. Meme was on holiday visiting her cousin in Edinburgh when they opted for a day out at The Centre.

After grabbing a bite to eat they were browsing the shops to see if anything caught their eye. Meme said: We’ve picked up a couple of nice summer dresses in M&S, then headed along to Primark where I found this lovely bag – it’s so spacious with plenty of room for all my things. It’s great having all these shops under the one roof - we’ve finished our shopping for the day but we’re already planning on coming back tomorrow for a further look around.”

Our final lucky shopper was Danny Logue (56) a staff nurse from Livingston. Danny has a self-confessed weakness for T-shirts and with an upcoming holiday to Italy, was stocking up on a few extra wardrobe staples while at The Centre.

He opted for a simple grey tee from Superdry with subtle blue and yellow marl detailing and a sunshine yellow Superdry logo for £17.

Danny said: “When I visit The Centre I usually head straight for stores like Superdry for clothes, Schuh for trainers and M&S for food. I’ve already got this T-shirt in a different colour at home, but I know I like it so it’s worth doubling up.”

Ashley Bisland, deputy centre director at The Centre said: “The summer holidays have flown by but The Centre has been a real hive of activity with families enjoying our mini garden festival, having fun on our exciting adventure activities, taking time out for a leisurely lunch and spending quality time together.

“This month our six lucky shoppers have picked up some fantastic pieces and we hope they enjoy treating themselves or their loved ones to something nice with their gift cards very soon.”
