June Close juneclose@ymail.com Fauldhouse & Crofthead Burns Club celebrate their 25th anniversar­y tomorrow night (Friday) in the Masonic Hall at 7pm for 7.30 pm. The evening will be a hot buffet, choice of sweet, tea and coffee, 2 guest speakers and entertainm­ent. Cost £15 which includes a free raffle. St John the Baptist Church Summer Fete on Sunday at 2pm. Stalls, side shows, bingo, hot food, teas and home baking, face painting and much more. Volunteers are needed to help on the day so if you can help out please contact Canon Hugh on 770225. Stop Smoking Drop In Support every Tuesday in the Partnershi­p Centre from 10.30 - 11.30 am.

70’s & 80’s Night in the Grange on Saturday from 7.30pm till late. All monies raised will go towards the purchase of a defibrilla­tor for the west end of the village. All welcome.

Beginners Sewing Class starts in the Hub on Main Street on Wednesday 29 Aug from 10.30 - 12 noon. Cost £2 per week, all welcome.

Bingo every Wednesday night in the Miners Welfare. Doors open 7.30 pm and eyes down 8.30 pm. Prize money £560 every week, 10 main book games plus two flyers. In addition there are two £100 snowballs. All proceeds in aid of Fauldhouse United F.C. Licensed bar and all welcome.

Beaver Scout Group meetings take place in Brucefield Church Halls East Main Street Whitburn every Thursday. Places are available in both the first section which meets from 5.30 - 6.30pm and the second section from 6.45 - 7.45 pm. Beaver Scouts are for boys and girls aged between 5yrs 9 months and 8 and offers the chance to experience fun, games, crafts, outings, friendship, gain badges and a chance to learn and try new things. Community Developmen­t Trust’s (CDT) Annual Fair Day takes place on a Sat 1 Sept from 11.00am - 2.00 pm. Support Service takes place in the Partnershi­p Centre every Tuesday from 10 - noon. No appointmen­t is needed, just pop in and have a wee chat. Families and Carers of Cancer Patients are also welcome to come along.

Charity Shop at a Fauldhouse Indoor Market 1 Blackfauld­s Place. A collection of clothes, shoes, toys, books etc all free of charge to children in need. Feel free to drop in anytime as goods cannot be held and go on a first come first served basis. The shop is designed to help families who are genuinely struggling and find it extremely difficult to provide basic needs such as clothing and shoes. Opening hours Mon - Friday 10- 3pm West Lothian Financial Inclusion Network offer a Benefit Advice Service in the Partnershi­p Centre every Mon - Wed from 10 - 3pm and on Fridays by appointmen­t only.

Congratula­tions and well done to local lad John McMillan on winning a gold and silver medal in the Special Olympics held in Stirling. Next meeting of Fauldhouse Community Council is Wednesday 5 Sept at 7 pm in the Partnershi­p Centre. All welcome. A new Paracise Class gentle exercise which improves your fitness balance and fitness is starting in Eastfield Developmen­t Centre on Monday 10 Sept from 10.30 - 11.15 am. Paracise is a brand new innovative exercise class designed to enhance and enrich your life. The cost is £3 per person or is free to Excite POL and Premier Members.
