Never a dull moment, eh?

-

Having sat down on Sunday to write this blog and discuss our defeat to Motherwell, I didn’t envisage having to redo it the next day but you should expect the unexpected at Livi.

Even so, I wasn’t prepared for the news on Sunday evening that Kenny Miller had left the club. His tenure lasted just seven weeks and seven games. His record was three wins, two draws and two defeats, which was fairly pleasing given the clubs that we have faced so far this season.

It had taken a while to get Kenny to sign the deal in the first place, so it comes as a surprise that both parties had mutually agreed to terminate the contract and move on.

The player-manager role was never one that was going to be easy, and it looks like both Kenny and the club have felt fairly early on it wasn’t going to work and have moved to change things quickly.

It’s perhaps not quite the soapopera style way we’ve gotten rid of managers in the past but it was nonetheless still a shock. So what now ? We find ourselves two games into the Premiership season managerless. Who next in the hot seat?

David Hopkin, the hero from the previous two seasons will be high on the list for the fans. We didn’t want to see him go in the first place and I’m sure everyone at the club would welcome him back with open arms but he has ruled himself out.

There are other very good options and hopefully the club make the right call when appointing the new man in charge.

Life goes on at Livingston Football Club and on Saturday the players will need our support more than ever as we head to St Mirren for our third game of the season.

There’s never a dull moment supporting Livi but this is our club and they need us now. Let’s get right behind the boys and whoever is on the touchline come Saturday and finish a tough week positively.
