Williams misses out on podium

Lothian Running Club members were in action in all three races over the Great Scottish Run event in Glasgow.

In the women’s 10k, Jo Williams just missed out on the podium as she finished fourth in 35.59.

LRC’s leading male 10k finishers both recorded personal best times as Robbie Kennedy (33.35) and Malcolm Lang (36.45) finished 18th and 22nd respective­ly.

Malcolm’s time saw him come third in the M40 category, while Ryan Kirkland’s 36.45 saw him grab fifth spot in the under-17s while William Francis also recorded a new personal best.

In the half marathon, Owen Williams, Euan McInnes and Andy McKenna all ran new personal bests.

Elsewhere, Ryan Ferguson was in Fife for the East Neuk 10k in Anstruther where he placed 88th of the 211 finishers in 48.03.

The club were well represente­d in the Livingston parkrun with 18 runners in the field and grabbed three top-10 finishers. Alan Knowles (17.20) took the victory, while Sam McIntosh came home in fourth in 18.49. Louis McDonald was one place further back in a time of 19.11.

Andrea Cameron was second female finisher in 21.19. Charlotte Moran of Linlithgow AAC and Sophie Ure of Livingston AC were sixth and eighth respective­ly in the female category.

Further afield, Josh Dack was first finisher at the Tees Barrage parkrun in Stockton on Tees while in Australia, Mhairi Inglis finished second female in the Yamba parkrun in New South Wales.
