We saw physical side of Well

-

It’s barely believable that as we reach the second international break, we remain comfortably in the top six of the Premiership table above the likes of Rangers and Aberdeen.

Undefeated in the league since the opening day, and having only conceded two goals during that run, it’s fair to say that it’s been a start beyond our wildest imagination.

At the weekend, we travelled to Fir Park to face Motherwell.

While we’ve been criticised in the past for our style of play, only one side tried to play any kind of football and that was ourselves.

Motherwell are easily one of the most physical sides we’ve come up against in the last three years and for the first 45 minutes it seemed to work. They sat deep and hit us on the break. You could say that they almost out Livingston-ed us.

Thankfully for the travelling fans, Mr Livingston himself – Keaghan Jacobs – stepped up to fire an unstoppable free-kick into the postage stamp to draw us level as we gained another excellent point on the road despite not being at our best on the day.

Talking of Keaghan, with that goal he once again created a bit of club history, becoming the first player to score in every division for the club.

He’s been through the lot at Livi – relegations, administrations and promotions. He’s certainly been on a rollercoaster ride but has stuck by us through thick and thin and I think Mr Livingston is a fair description of Jacobs, an undoubted legend of our football club.

Finally, congratulations are in order. Our gaffer has won the SPFL Premiership Manager of the Month award for September after a run of three wins against Hibs, Hamilton and Rangers, with a draw against table-toppers Hearts. There is no doubt that he deserved it.

Also, Stevie Lawless won SPFL Goal of the Month for his wonder-strike against Hamilton. Fantastic stuff.
