Lorna Graham clovenford@yahoo.co.uk West Calder Community Centre Associatio­n , Management Committee, will be holding a public meeting on Wednesday 21 November at 7pm in the Community Centre. All members are invited. As part of Talk Money Week from 12th to 16th November, MOOD and the West Lothian Advice Shop are running financial advice and informatio­n sessions in Polbeth and West Calder. There will be a session in Polbeth Village Hall on Thursday 15th November from 2 till 4 pm. The roadshow events aim to encourage more

people to talk openly about money, and access profession­al financial advice. The events will cover: Informatio­n on Universal Credit, financial advice including income maximisati­on, debt and budgeting advice, how to use a price comparison site, specific informatio­n around living with cancer and help and support for those who experience poor mental health.

Free admission, Refreshmen­ts available, Raffle, SWRI Home Baking Christmas Carol Concert Choir Rehearsals started In the West Kirk on WEDNESDAY 7th of November and run from 7 - 8 pm. We would like to send an open invitation to everyone with a love of music to come along and join us, we have the extremely talented Carolyn Hamilton lead us behind the Baton. Everyone is welcome and you do not need to be able to read music to “Raise the Roof” with lots of Carols and Christmas songs at the Concert on Friday December 14th at 7 pm (The Concert lasts for lasts for 1 hour) All still welcome to come and join our Choir. Fundraisin­g Afternoon Music Concert in aid of Namibia 2019 Scouting Trip will be held on Sun 18th Nov 2-4pm, West Kirk, West Calder. Tickets priced £5 for adults, £3 for under 16s will be available on the door or from Aonghas or Rhoda Lawton (via West Kirk or Polbeth Harwood Church). Local Explorer Scout, Aonghas Lawton has been selected to travel with the Forth Region Scouts to Namibia in 2019 to continue the project work in Omakange begun in 2017. Three weeks of building projects, helping out in the local schools & other community based work awaits 33 Scouts. Aonghas has raised his target for the Project but is now fundraisin­g to get himself to Namibia to be part of the Project Team. The concert will feature Toccata Ladies Choir, Folk Music from an Edinburgh based group & Aonghas & Friends from West Lothian NYCOS will take part. There will also be a raffle. A warm welcome awaits everyone.

West Kirk of Calder Sunday morning worship starts at 9:45am to which all are warmly invited. Sunday Club welcomes all children from 3yrs to P7 for fun games and Bible adventures, there is also a crèche every Sunday for children under 3yrs of age. We have a special children’s event on October 28th when we will be joined by a Soldier to talk to us about the importance of this extra special Remembranc­e Day. The Bible Class for older kids meets the second Sunday in every month, meeting first in the church at 9.45am.Everyone is very welcome to join us any Sunday and there is no age limit! Polbeth Harwood Church Sunday morning worship starts at 11:15am and all are warmly invited.
