Wade wins it for Fulshie

- Lochgelly A’rt..1 Stoneyburn......... 2

Broxburn Athletic eased their way back to top spot in the East of Scotland Conference C table with a convincing win backed by a Zander Miller hat-trick.

The hosts actually created the game’s first effort, which was blocked by Craig Purves, before Athletic opened their account in style.

Ross Nimmo and Miller played a neat one-two before the former swept the ball into the top corner from 30 yards.

The two sides were evenly matched for the remainder of the first half with both teams playing decent football and creating chances before Athletic struck a critical blow before the break as Alec Wade netted both goals as Stoneyburn grabbed a confidence boosting League Cup win at Lochgelly Albert.

The victory sees the Fulshie tied with West Lothian neighbours Pumpherston atop the Section J standings after both sides got the better of the Berts.

Elsewhere within the League Cup, there was a 3-0 win for West Calder at home to Kinnoull with Ewan Leonard netting either side of a Michael Adams brace.

Bathgate Thistle, though, were edged out 3-1 away at Superleague outfit Glenrothes.

Over in the East of Scotland, there were vastly different fortunes for Blackburn United and Linlithgow Rose.

The Rose were handily beaten 5-1 by East Stirling in the fourth round of the South Region Challenge Cup. Darren Smith netted a late consolation for the Rose.

Blackburn United did the double against St Andrews United with a 4-1 win in Conference C fixture - a week after defeating them 3-1 away from home.

Darren Downie scored twice for Blackburn with Jordan Bain and Calum McDowall also netting.
