Runners savour great finishes

Lothian Running Club took the first four places in the Livingston Parkrun on Saturday morning, while Livingston AC grabbed a one-two in the female category.

Local runners were in fine form as the two clubs combined for 10 of the top 18 finishers.

Josh Dack led the way in a time of 16.54 which was over a minute faster than his closest challenger as LRC team-mate Craig Pirie came home in second place in 18.19.

Euan McInnes (18.37) and Al Aitken (19.23) finished third and fourth, with Alan Konopka of Vegan Runners breaking the LRC dominance with his fifth place finish in 19.38.

Livingston AC’s Yvonne Crilly was 10th overall and took the female category win with her time of 20.17, with team-mate Courtney Moffat crossing the finish line in 20.50, just two seconds from tying her personal best, as she claimed second female and 12th overall.

Andrea Cameron of Lothian Running Club was third female in and 14th overall with a new record time of 21.05. She was closely followed by a trio LRC team-mates, with Owen Williams and Alastair Murray both crossing the line in 21.06 with the latter claiming a new PB. Colin Wishart was 18th in 21.12.

Elsewhere, Alan Cunningham finished 16th of 148 finishers in the Bob Stark Memorial 5k race in Falkland, while in the third match of the Borders Cross Country Series at Peebles, David Eades finished 38th overall and second M50 in 28.43 with Lorna Eades 170th and ninth in the F50 category in 39.25.
