Acclaimed quartet set for Linlithgow concert

McCormack who is well establishe­d as one of Britain’s leading violinists with an extensive career as a soloist, recording artist and violin teacher.

Her current teaching posts include working at the Royal Conservato­ire of Scotland.

The programme includes quartets by Shostakovi­ch and Beethoven plus an arrangemen­t of the C major fugue by Bach and a piece by the Japanese composer Karen Tanaka in tribute to Beethoven.

The quartet are particular­ly well known for their interpreta­tion and performanc­e of the music of Shostakovi­ch.

A festive night out will be had by anyone visiting Howden Park Centre in Livingston this December.

For the perfect kick start to the festive period ‘A Swinging Christmas Evening’ is always the answer.

Boogie woogie and swing pianist/vocalist Peter Gill returns once again to the Howden Park.

He and his highly-skilled musician friends will perform an eclectic mix of swing standards, boogie woogie classics and Christmas gems.

These will include such songs as ‘White Christmas’, ‘Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town’, ‘Winter Wonderland’, ‘Blue Moon’, ‘Down The Road Apiece’, ‘Buona Sera’ and ‘Mr Bojangles’.

The show will take place on Sunday, December, 22 at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £17 or £15 for concession­s.
