The next Labour government will transform our economy into one that is radically fairer, more democratic, rich in good jobs and low in carbon emission.

Under the Tories, pay has stagnated while insecurity and inequality are rising.

Labour will eradicate in-work poverty by tackling the causes of poverty and inequality, such as low pay and high living costs.

We will introduce a Real Living Wage of at least £10 per hour. This will apply to all workers aged 16 and over.

We will tackle insecurity by giving everyone full employment rights from day one on the job. We will also ban zero-hour contracts.

Our Green Industrial Revolution will create one million high-quality jobs across the economy while contributing to emissions reductions. We will also create a National Investment Bank that will invest £250billion in the economy across the UK.

Labour will return to public ownership our railways, Royal Mail and the energy utilities, ensuring that they work in the interests of the public, not their shareholders. This will result in fair pricing to users of these services.

Labour will increase corporation tax to 26 per cent, which would still be lower than many major Western countries and lower than in 2010. We would also raise income tax for the top five per cent of tax payers.
