The economy in this country is broken. It is not working for ordinary working people.

When the Tories implemented austerity, it was a political choice, not an economic necessity. Even the IMF, the supposed proponents of austerity, said that it did not work and inflicted unnecessary pain and suffering on the most vulnerable people across the country.

Over the past few years, we have seen inequality widen. The rich have got richer and the poor have got poorer.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. Labour will change things so that those with the broadest shoulders bear the heaviest burden.

We will ensure there is a redistribution of wealth in this country so that the top earners pay a bit more in taxation in order to invest in our public services which have been persistently cut under the Tories and by the SNP at Holyrood.

The SNP have failed to mitigate against Tory cuts. Only the Labour Party has a plan to invest in our people and communities and to change our economy to achieve that.

Labour will bring transformational change to Scotland by rejigging the economy so that it works for everyone. Over a decade Labour will provide £100billion of investment to Scotland. This will be used to end child poverty, end food bank Britain and invest in and revitalise our public services.

This will include our cherished NHS so that it always has the resources it needs. The truth is only Labour can be trusted with the NHS.

Vote Labour today for a more hopeful future.
