LIVINGSTON ATHLETIC CLUB

Congratulations to Lyn Bow who became a Jog Leader at the weekend. Lyn, who is pictured after running the Berlin Marathon in September, is already a member of Jog Livingston as well.

In parkrun events on Saturday morning, a number of club members produced impressive results.

Carol Moffat came third in her age category and set a new personal best for Strathclyde with a time of 27.10 while Shannon Prevost was second female and first in her age category at Polkemmet Country with a time of 23.19.

At the same event, Alan Morris was third male and second in his age group in 23.48 while Grant McLean was a second further back which saw him finish runnerup for his age category.

A pair of Livingston AC runners were in fine form on their maiden parkruns at Polkemmet with Louise Keeble (25.42) being first in her age category while Kirsten Morris ( 34.38) was second in her age group.

LOTHIAN RUNNING CLUB

Lothian Running Club’s annual Festive Frolics races will take place at Beecraigs Country Park on Boxing Day.

Runners have the option of running either 7k or 14k and both races are handicapped with timed starts.

These races get underway at 11am followed at 11.15am by the Beecraigs Bash Fun Run.

Both the 7k and 14k races will use the same, tough loop starting near Balvormie Car Park, heading east through Beecraigs, round Beecraigs Loch, up the Sawmill hill and returning via the start at Balvormie before heading west to climb Cockleroy, then returning to the finish.

The Beecraigs Bash is a short 1.3km run on woodland paths, starting near Balvormie car park and ending at the same finish area as the handicap events.
