The Whitburn star also released last year’s most-streamed track. his hit ‘Someone You Loved’ was played over 228 million times on audio streaming services.

The single transformed him into a global superstar before he released his debut album ‘Divinely Uninspired to a hellish Extent’, which topped the album charts for six weeks.

And to celebrate his success the down-toearth star popped into his local pub to catch up with pals and enjoy a sing-song.

The chart-topper dropped in to The grange Bar, Fauldhouse, to catch up with old friends and fellow entertainers before Christmas.

And grange regulars marked the visit by donating a collection of £2000 to the local children’s gala day.

Fauldhouse man Albert Mancini said: “Lewis is a regular in The grange and nobody bothers him except for a few of the younger ones, who are a bit star struck. Once he obliges with a few selfies things settle down.

“There’s a great number of local entertainers frequent the pub and he’s been friends with them for many years.

“Jim goldie’s Last Man Standing group, now named Soul Sensation, was the coordinator of the session for the 200 who turned up. Lewis did not perform a full set but covered his number one hit single. he wasn’t listed to appear and just dropped in.

“he stayed for the after show party that lasted till 6am the next morning - not in the pub. he’s off to Australia now.”
