New state-of-the-art vets opens
MSP Fiona Hyslop opens new look Riverside Vets
Cabinet Secretary for Culture, Tourism and External Affairs MSP Fiona Hyslop had a very important role on Friday as she opened the new Riverside Vets in Armadale.
The team at Riverside Vets have opened the new practice in the former Armadale Housing Office giving it a brand new lease of life with the latest state-of-the-art technology for its patients.
On Friday, MSP Fiona Hyslop enjoyed a tour of the new look vets which boasts a dedicated cat waiting room and consult area as well as state-of-the-art cat hospitalisation areas with the aim of achieving its Gold Standard Award from the International Society of Feline Medicine.
Directors Graeme Sherriff and Amanda Clarkson took the MSP on a tour of the centre with practice manager Mary Ward.
The new centre has two operating theatres and a designated dental and x-ray suite as well as the most up to date in laboratory equipment meaning that we can perform most blood tests inhouse and get results in minutes.
Practice Manager Mary Ward said: “The refurbishment programme has been a huge undertaking for us and has seen a substantial cash investment.
“The building was very tired and dated previously and due to the size and location there were very limited options for it’s ongoing use which would have seen it stood empty on Armadales’s Main Street.
“We have undertaken a minimum 10 year lease which I hope shows our commitment to the people, their pets and the town of Armadale.”
Ms Hyslop was impressed with the new centre and said: “I was delighted to officially open the new Riverside Veterinary Practice at Armadale Cross.
“This independent vets surgery has consulting rooms and a state of the art theatre for operations.
“It is a major investment in the town with £500k being spent to refurbish the old Council building and to invest in the latest high tech equipment to look after my constituent’s family’s dogs and cats and other pets.
“Congratulations to owners Mandy and Graeme for all their hard work and commitment to opening this branch.”
