I WILL WIND UP MY MATES WITH A LIVI WIN

Jack is desperate to put old team-mates to the sword

-

Livingston defender Jack McMillan says he wants the bragging rights over his pals as he takes on his former team.

The Lions host third- place Motherwell at the Tony Macaroni Arena and the Bathgate lad is confident they can keep their impressive run going and is ready to tease some old friends if they do.

Speaking to the Courier, Jack said: “They’re obviously my old team and there’s a few of the guys still there that I know, so I’m hoping I can drop them a wee text on Saturday night and get the bragging rights.

“We had a decent youth team when I was there with the likes of David Turnbull, James Scott, Alan Campbell and Barry Maguire and they’re still there.

“They’re pals and we keep in touch but I’ll be wanting to get the win over them on Saturday.

“They have had a great season.

You just need to look at their league ague position. They’re a very good side e and doing well but I don’t see why we can’t beat them.”

Livi once again have been making aking a mockery of pre-season predictions tions that had them going down and d the versatile McMillan believes they have what it takes to stay in the hunt for a top-six berth.

He said: “It is one game at a time e and we’re a group of guys who don’t look further than the next game.

“But we’re confident that now we’ve got ourselves in a position where e we are in the top six, we can stay there. re.

“I think it’s an achievable target et but we need to work hard and perform form every game to manage it.

“We’ve got so many options going forward that I think we can always ways hurt sides and we’ve learned from last season.

“The game on Saturday against ainst Hamilton is one we might have ended nded up losing last year after they pulled led it back to 2-2 but we ended up scoring oring another two and getting a really good win.”

McMillan is finally starting to get a run of games in the side after being largely used as a squad player since joining the club in August 2017 – and he has thanked his versatility and loan spell at Championship side Partick Thistle last term for helping him earn a starting role for the Lions.

He said: “My loan spell at Partick really helped me and I became more confident. They played me at left-back, rightback, centre-back and even central midfield.

“I’ve played on the right and left this season for Livi and I feel like that I’m comfortable and confident in both positions. We’ve got a few guys who can play in multiple positions and it just adds more value to the squad.”

They’re pals and we keep in touch… so I’m hoping I can drop them a wee text on Saturday night Jack McMillan
