Hotel wants your love stories

-

A West Lothian hotel is calling on couples to share their romantic stories and have the chance to win an overnight stay.

To mark this leap year’s February 29 – traditionally the only date in the calendar when women are allowed to ask men for their hand in marriage – Macdonald Houstoun House in Uphall is celebrating unique and inspiring proposals.

The four-star hotel is calling for couples to share their memories, and any photography, from the milestone moment they said yes to spending the rest of their lives together.

According to The Knot survey of over 12,000 brides and grooms, less than one per cent of women proposed to their male partners, yet trends are showing that more and more men would be excited to be asked.

Whether proposing to a man or a woman, Macdonald Houstoun House is celebrating all tales of love, commitment and courage and will treat one lucky couple to a romantic break, complete with overnight stay, dinner in the double AA Rosette awarded restaurant and access to the luxurious spa facilities.

To take part, couples should send their story, proposal photographs and the date they said yes to macdonald@bigpartnership.co.uk or post on www.facebook.com/ MacdonaldHotels by March 31.

Andrew Boe, general manager at Macdonald Houstoun House, said: “As one of the area’s most popular wedding destinations, we are lucky to be able to share in the stories of couples beginning their lives together.

“While we are hearing more and more about women taking the leap, we are encouraging all those in love to have the courage to ask that all important question.

“And this isn’t just about celebrating women popping the question on February 29, but rather about inspiring anyone who feels they are ready – no matter the time of year.”
