One of the world’s number one Eric Clapton tribute bands will be making a welcome return to Howden Park Centre as part of their 35th anniversary tour.

Classic Clapton features frontman Mike Hall who not only looks like Eric, he sings and plays guitar like him too.

They were formed in 1985 in Newcastle upon Tyne long before the term “tribute band” was invented.

In the past 35 years they have become something of a rock institution.

The band comprises four excellent musicians who stunningly recreate Slowhand’s electrifying stage performances.

The whole of Clapton’s illustrious career is covered. This includes Cream, The Bluesbreakers, The Yardbirds, Blind Faith, Derek and The Dominos and the solo years.

The show is a two-hour journey through the music of Eric Clapton including all of his hits.

These will include ‘Wonderful Tonight’, ‘I Shot the Sheriff’, ‘Lay Down Sally’, ‘Crossroads’, ‘Tears in Heaven’, ‘Layla’ and even an special unplugged segment.

This will be their seventh appearance at Howden Park Centre and is sure to prove to be popular.

The show is on Saturday, March 21, 7.30pm.

Tickets for the concert are £16 or £14 for concessions.
