Test call for health and care workers Band release single in aid of NHS Scotland
West Lothian Council’s leader says health and care workers in West Lothian need routine and regular testing for Covid-19 - and the public needs to know more about all testing results.
Councillor Lawrence Fitzpatrick has written to Nicola Sturgeon, the First Minister, calling on her to institute a regular and routine testing programme for healthcare staff.
In his letter, Mr Fitzpatrick, said: “Frontline health and care workers play a vital role, yet they are not subject to routine testing unless they are symptomatic and this places them in an extremely vulnerable position. I would ask that you institute a programme of regular Covid-19 testing for all frontline health and care staff.” Councillor Fitzpatrick also called on the Scottish Government to release results of testing in West Lothian, including the capacity of each testing centre, the number of tests carried out and the number of negative and positive tests. relevant, with the song title and the lyrics. It is doing quite well, I think it is the most viewed song we have had so far.
“Our manager, Ross Coutts, was a massive help with it all and Scott Kempik did an amazing job with the video too.”
The band have been busy recording demos during lockdown and are booked in to the recording studio for late in July when they hope some of the lockdown restrictions will have been lifted.
They hope to have some new material ready for their fans later in the year and are hoping to be playing to a live audience in September.
Mark continued: “We are still due to play The Mashhouse later in the year.
“It was rescheduled, it was supposed to be in March but has now been moved to September 3, which is a Thursday night. That’s not normally a great night for a gig so we are just kind of hoping that everyone will be wanting out as much as possible once this is all done with.”
