ARMADALE GRACE HARRIS HARRISG14@GMAIL.COM MEMORY CAVE CAFÉ

The cafe which is normally held within Armadale Partnership Centre on the 3rd Friday of each month is postponed until further notice due to the ongoing Coronavirus situation. Volunteers Fay, Ann and Grace hope all the attendees at the café are keeping safe and well. The café is for people with dementia and their carers and is supported by Alzheimer Scotland and run by volunteers from the Armadale community. The cafe is a place where carers and family members can drop in at any time between 10am – 12 noon and provides a place to meet where people understand dementia, gain peer support and information. When the café resumes please drop in and enjoy a good blether with a varied programme each month which can include games, quizzes, music and crafts or sometimes just a good blether. Carers or family members with someone they are caring for with dementia are always made most welcome.

WEST CALDER MEDICAL CENTRE

all doctors and staff would like to thank their patients for their continued support and understanding during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. As you will be aware we had to quickly implement significant changes to our service for the safety of patients and staff.

We have now reached a transitional phase, and are working hard to adapt our service so we can deal with nonurgent medical problems in a more coordinated way hopefully to the benefit of both doctors and patients.

From Monday 22nd June patients will be able to request a call-back from a particular doctor up to 2 weeks in advance. Depending on availability, patients will be able to specify the date and either a morning or afternoon callback. This will allow the GPs to plan their workload better, and provide patients with better continuity of care.

We will keep you informed of further changes as they occur.

Many thanks West Calder Medical Centre

MID CALDER BOWLING CLUB

has reopened the bowling green for limited non-competitive play conforming with Bowls Scotland guidance. Time on the green has to be booked in advance. The club is now preparing for the next phase in the easing of restrictions and we are hoping to have our outside area in use when it is decided that alcohol can be consumed in a beer garden. If and when this happens access will be restricted to members so anyone looking to renew should do so ASAP. We would like to record our appreciation to those bowling members who have paid their fees, indeed our membership has actually increased this season. The club will continue to make more facilities available as restrictions are lifted and ask members to bear with us through these unprecedented times. Anyone requiring information on what is happening at the club should call Brian on 07821 258737.

MEMORIES & STORIES WITH STONES

Covid19 / Lockdown has been very strange times for everyone and the Girl Guides are not exempt from this. The girls in the 10th Livingston Girl Guide Group wanted to capture the different emotions, memories and stories they have encountered in 2020. They decided they wanted their experiences in lockdown to be recorded in history and have started to paint stones to create a memory of their time. The Livingston Cricket Club have agreed to participate in this project and welcome everyone in the community to lay their own stone with their own story. Let all your memories & stories with stones be part of history.
