Get on your bike this month

-

West Lothian workers are being urged to get on their bikes in September. Everyone is being encouraged to get involved with Love to Ride, a West Lothian Council- funded project to get workplaces and individuals cycling. The project is all about getting individuals and workplaces cycling more.

An international year- round programme is available for anyone to join and in West Lothian, the scheme includes the free workplace challenge, Cycle September.

To take part, simply sign up as an organisation, then log your rides.

There are seven different size categories and a points- based competition focused heavily on participation and encouragement.

Angus Rodney, local project manager at Love to Ride West Lothian, said: “The challenge works by supporting organisations to encourage participation and share internal comms with colleagues. I am on hand to help throughout Cycle September with this, providing information and running tailored events to address barriers, such as bike Breakfasts, Dr Bike maintenance, taster sessions and webinars. Cycling is great for organisations, reducing stress, improving health, and putting less strain on parking infrastructure. Anyone can take part, all you have to do is cycle for 10mins across the month of September. The Love to Ride platform provides individuals with tailored information to help them overcome barriers. There are great prizes to be won throughout Cycle September and we can run side by side events to help support your organisation.”
