Site manager scoops top industry accolade
A West Lothian site manager from a UK homebuilder is celebrating after he received a prestigious industry award from the National Home Building Council (NHBC).
Site manager Alex Sinnet from CALA Homes ( East) has been recognised in the 2020 Pride in the Job Quality Awards for his contribution to creating homes of exceptional quality in the Edinburgh and East Lothian area.
Alex was one of six CALA Homes ( East) site managers whose developments have all been singled out as the top performers in the country.
He said: “I was over the moon. We have faced all sorts of challenges throughout the build such as major gas diversions, removal of electrical overhead power supply and fitting a new substation to name a few, and we overcame them by good planning, organisation and teamwork.
“I have a great site team where we all work together, this has been the key element to this site’s success. It really means a lot to me and the whole team as this is a large development with 206 units and a really good selling site so we are all kept busy - to keep up the quality at the pace we are working at is a great achievement.
“The award is good for me, the team and all the subcontractors who can take a boost for getting some prestige for all the hard work we all do.”
The six winners are among 17 CALA site managers to win one of this year’s prestigious NHBC awards with a total of 11,000 site managers across the UK assessed this year.
They will now go through to the next stage of the competition, the Seal of Excellence, the winners of which will be announced later this year.
Craig Lynes, managing director for CALA Homes (East), comments: “The past few months have been challenging for us all, but the commitment of our teams to deliver the best possible homes for our customers has not diminished. My thanks go to all our awarded site managers and their teams for taking pride in their jobs, and delivering exceptional developments across Edinburgh and East Lothian.”
