West Lothian College’s Student Association is being featured in a book recognising 20 years of the Bologna Process.
The Bologna Process is an agreement between European countries to ensure comparability in the standards and quality of higher education qualifications.
Student Association development officer Micole Cochrane co-authored a paper with the National Union of Students (NUS) Scotland, Creating Impactful
Student Associations, that was included in a book Bologna Process Beyond 2020: Fundamental values of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
The paper explores the benefits of developing strong, effective and sustainable student associations based on the work of the Developing College Student Associations project in Scotland and the experience of the West Lothian College Student Association.
The college’s student association was the only student association featured in the book which was presented to the 2020 EHEA Ministerial Meeting in Rome.
Micole said:“It was a privilege and an honour to work with National Union of Students to co-author an article about the work and impact of West Lothian College Student Association. I am immensely proud of our strong, effective and sustainable student association.”
