Boundless artistic chances for over-50s

-

Generation Arts has launched an imaginative new way to help people embrace their creative side while also staying connected.

The arts and wellbeing charity promotes creative activities for people aged 50 and over, as well as working with local care homes, where it delivers online arts and craft and dance activities for residents.

Generation Arts is now delighted to launch Boundless, which encourages people to connect by sending each other colourful and creative postcards that can feature anything, from a poem, drawing or doodle, to a collage or print – however you’d like to express yourself.

And next up will be a cookery book, crammed with recipes and the memories and emotions that each one evokes in everyone who has taken part.

To get involved, just sign up to the Generation Arts mailing list.

Joanne S Brown, director of the Generation Arts Association, says the Boundless project – funded by Foundation Scotland – aims to connect people in a more personal way and won’t rely on online platforms like Zoom or Facebook.

She said: “Our Boundless project is here to keep you creative and connected right through the lockdown, with no computers or technology required.

“We want people who are over 50 to get in touch and join our mailing list to get involved to be part of a creative network across West Lothian to keep us vibrant, excited and joyful, especially throughout the winter.”

Anyone who wants to connect with their loved ones who are in care homes can also join in while residents take part in online singing and dancing sessions.
