This museum which is in Linburn is now open from 10-4pm every day except Mondays and Thursdays. Last entry to the museum is 3pm. Our new daily entry fees are as follows:Adult £6, Child £3.50, Family Ticket £17 ( 2 adults and up to 3 children under 16), Children under 5 free. Over the coming few weeks you will see lots of changes to the museum, more exciting new displays, both inside and outside. The Library/archive will also have a new look.

Over the past few years we have amassed a large library of books. We have a huge amount of doublers and some others not relevant and surplus to requirements, we are holding a book sale to help raise necessary funds. This will be held on Friday and Saturday September 18 and 19. Reasonable donations accepted.

If you have ever visited the museum, you would have noticed our amazing model collection. The majority of the models and dioramas are the work of our resident modeller and veteran George Maher. His latest, now proudly on display is The Warrior (APC/IFV). George will be available every Friday where you can watch him work and get advice about making or painting models.

We will be holding a temporary exhibition – “Model Museum Scotland Model Mania” It will be a week long display of George’s models, some unseen in the museum before. If you are a veteran and a modeller, you will be more than welcome to also display your models as part of our exhibition. There will also be a number of model kits for sale. It will run from Tuesday 13 – Sunday October 18.

We recently took delivery of a Green Goddess thanks to local recovery company, Craig Dymock Recovery Ltd. Craig did it for free and he drove all the way to Doune, to collect and then deliver this vehicle.. We can’t thank you enough

Craig.

We also give a huge thanks to all from 16

Regt RA, who attended

Glasvegas Cheese and

Wine 2019, for their very generous donation of £125.00 .
