Electrician’s lights show raises £4k
A A West Lothian family that West Lothian family that put on a spectacular light show at Christmas has been praised by a local charity after raising over £4000.
Del Campbell raised the money for River Kids by putting on a professional-standard show at his Blackridge home in the run-up to Christmas.

Del said he is delighted to have raised so much for charity.

A family who put on a jaw-dropping Christmas lights show to cheer up people during lockdown raised over £ 4000 for charity in the process.
Del Campbell organised the spectacular display which boasted synchronised music, amazing decorations, a snow machine and 5000 lights at his Blackridge home over Christmas and invited locals to come and watch.
Donations were collected for West Lothian children’s charity River Kids and Del was delighted to hand over a cheque for £4000.
His shows attracted more than 3000 people over the three weekends leading up to Christmas and came hot on the heels of a series of similar light displays at Halloween.
Del, who owns Westrigg Electrical, said it took five weeks to create the Christmas show so his lights synced up with remixed versions of everything from ‘Jingle Bells’ to ‘The Fairytale of New York’.
Del, who lives with wife Alana and kids Nyomi (8) and Jace (6), at Leishman Court, said he is delighted at how much he has raised for River Kids.
He said: “Over the five nights and all the shows we think there were somewhere in the region of 3000 visitors, way more than we ever expected.
“We had lots of great feedback and it was great to see people dancing along to the the remixed versions of ‘Jingle Bells’ and let it go.
“Every night we would get loads of thank you messages, people saying this is going to be a Christmas tradition to come see the light show, so the pressure is on for next year!
“As for what’s next, we are currently planning for Halloween 2021. More lights will be added, new songs programmed and more props and for Christmas we will propably commence work around summer time.”
Jan Ward, chairman and trustee of River Kids thanked Del and his family for all their hard work.
She said: “Last year has been tough, but I am absolutely blown away by the support we’ve received, especially from the Westrigg Electrical Light Show.
“A huge thank you to them for organising this event, and raising funds on our behalf.
“The money raised will be used to ensure children of West Lothian do not go without.”
